It all started in 1972, Tim’s dad, John, decided he wanted to keep bee’s. He wrangled a beehive and hid it behind the shed where his wife Elva couldn’t see. John enlisted the help of his two sons, Tim and Ted, with one condition, “Don’t tell your mother”.
Fast forward a couple years, Tim went to Delaware Valley College studying animal husbandry. This is where he met the love of his life Patty and they have been stuck like honey ever since. Schuler’s Bees and Honey was started in 1990, while Tim worked for the NJ State Department of Agriculture. In 2007, Tim was named state apiarist and retired from the state in 2019.
